DRUG RECEIPTS ORIGINS

Arlo often doodles on his receipts when dining out. In 2015 he started posting the doodles to Instagram. Over the years the characters and themes evolved, eventually appearing on stickers, T-shirts and city walls. Now, in partnership with Brooke Howard-Smith, cofounder of Non-Fungible Labs, one of the world’s leading NFT houses, the misfit Drug Receipts characters are being discovered by a new global audience.

The Drug Receipts NFT release will comprise of 10,000 unique programmatically generated characters stored as ERC721 tokens on the Ethereum blockchain. The collection is built around four base characters: the Capsule “Cap,” the Rx Bottle “Rex,” the Syringe “Syrin,” and the Tablet “Tabbi,” and hundreds of unique attributes spread across over a dozen categories.

The NFT collection represents a collaboration between Drug Receipts artist Arlo Eisenberg, Non-Fungible Labs cofounder Brooke Howard-Smith, and fine art photographer Tyler Shields. As such, the collection’s unique attributes include dozens of easter eggs and surprises that will be familiar to fans of all three.

Each character and attribute has been carefully crafted and curated to ensure that every piece is cool and unique and that every Drug Receipts owner is super stoked! In addition, there are many perks and surprises—many trait related—still to be announced.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Arlo Eisenberg is an agitator, a communicator, a skeptic, and a graphic artist with a distinct point of view. As a former professional rollerblader—winning the X Games in 1996—Arlo has close ties to the action sports and streetwear communities. In 1993 Arlo, along with his good buddy Brooke Howard-Smith, founded the mega-successful inline skating accessories company Senate Industries. Following Arlo’s brand of irreverence and playful social commentary, Senate exposed legions of young people to countercultural ideals.

Juxtaposing challenging themes with bright, fun, poppy graphics has long been Arlo’s calling card. Things that most people find objectionable, or not polite to talk about, form the foundation for Arlo’s work. “I enjoy challenging conventional notions of morality,” he says, “I like to surprise people and emotionally engage them, and hopefully make them think a little.”

ABOUT THE PARTNERS

Drug Receipts represents a unique partnership between three very dear friends, Arlo Eisenberg, Brooke Howard-Smith, and Tyler Shields. Their history goes back decades, to the early days of skating when all three were professional rollerbladers traveling the world touring and competing together.

Brooke and Arlo founded Senate, an aggressive inline accessories company that earned over $13M at its peak, some thirty years ago. Today, with his company Non-Fungible Labs Brooke and his all-star team in New Zealand have been responsible for many of the most successful and most highly regarded NFT projects, including Party Bears, ASM, and most notably the extremely popular animated 3D rabbits of FLUF World. Brooke and NFL are recognized for their industry-leading tech and innovation but more than anything they have been heralded for their commitment to long-term, genuine community building.

As a young skater, Tyler spent his summers in Texas at Arlo’s family home during Eisenbergs Skatepark Summer Camps. Tyler was far too young to be a counselor but far too good to be a camper. Some twenty years later Tyler is considered one of the foremost fine art photographers of our generation. Tyler’s connections in the fine art world and his vast network of friends and associates in arts and entertainment provide many high-profile collaboration opportunities for Drug Receipts. Not to mention Tyler’s huge catalog of iconic work that has provided much inspiration for Easter eggs and exclusive traits in the Drug Receipts art.

Individually, Arlo, Brooke and Tyler each built massive followings. With Drug Receipts they are combining their talents, their experience, and their complementary backgrounds to build something very special.
